In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Bashimova and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze.
According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, during the negotiations Bashimova congratulated Imnadze on his appointment to this responsible post and emphasized the important role of the center in strengthening cooperation and peace in the region, as well as in establishing mutual understanding between the countries of Central Asia.
Turkmenistan’s interest in enhancing the role of the UN Regional Center in Ashgabat in promoting initiatives to strengthen multilateral diplomacy, such as the “Women’s Dialogue of Central Asian Countries”, joint programs in the field of security and professional training of civil servants was noted.
The parties also discussed the initiatives of Turkmenistan, announced at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, and their contribution to resolving key issues on the global agenda.
In addition, diplomats outlined a schedule of possible joint events for the near future.
