The creative potential of the country is the basis for the well-being of the people

The past week was marked by a number of events reflecting the consistency of the domestic and foreign policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at further improving the well-being of the Turkmen people, the economic potential of the Fatherland, and expanding international cooperation.

On February 19, the head of state held a working meeting on the digital system, at which the progress of agricultural work in the country was reviewed.

Emphasizing the importance of the tasks facing the agro-industrial complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure proper care of wheat and preparation for sowing “white gold” within agrotechnical terms, as well as supplying farmers with high-quality seeds of cotton and vegetable and melon crops.

At the same time, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to keep under strict control the implementation at a high quality level and on time of the work planned for 2024 within the framework of the Program for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program, as well as maintaining the uninterrupted functioning of heating systems in social facilities and providing the population with electricity, natural gas and drinking water.

On February 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan, Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat.

During the meeting, it was noted that our countries and peoples have fruitful relations that go back centuries and are based on strong ties of friendship and the principles of mutual respect. The Republic of India is one of the important partners of Turkmenistan in the South Asian region. While developing a constructive political and diplomatic dialogue, our states also successfully interact within the framework of authoritative international organizations, as is clearly evidenced by the mutual support for positive initiatives put forward on the world stage.

Turkmenistan and India are productively cooperating in the trade and economic sphere, including in such industries as the fuel, energy and transport sectors, agriculture, and textile industry.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the project for the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India. Its implementation will contribute to the development of the economies of the participating countries, the creation of new jobs, the construction of social and industrial infrastructure, and the attraction of large foreign investments.

Among the current areas of bilateral cooperation are the areas of healthcare, science, education and culture.

We also note that last week, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Mejlis accepted credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Turkmenistan, Jose Luis Martinez Hernandez.

The diplomat was familiarized with the main directions and priorities of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, as well as with the structure and legislative activities of the national Parliament.

Much attention was paid to the prospects for cooperation, successfully built both in a bilateral and multilateral format, within the framework of large international organizations, primarily the UN.

On February 21, a meeting was held between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Affairs of the Office of the President of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the exchange of views on key areas of cooperation, demonstrating positive dynamics, it was noted that contacts at the highest level play a special role in strengthening bilateral relations. Regular meetings and negotiations provide an opportunity to identify current vectors of cooperation with a long-term perspective and develop joint steps for the practical implementation of the agreements reached.

The parties also noted that an integral component of Turkmen-Emirati relations is the humanitarian sphere - interaction in science, education and culture, as well as sports.

On the same day, at the International Airport of the Turkmen capital, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Affairs of the Office of the President of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The interlocutors noted the progressive development of long-term interstate cooperation, which has great potential for further diversification across the entire spectrum of areas, and expressed confidence in the successful continuation of the established constructive dialogue, which fully meets the interests of the two countries and their fraternal peoples.

On February 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which topical issues of the country’s socio-economic development and drafts of a number of documents were discussed.

During the meeting, the head of state signed an Order according to which, on the eve of International Women's Day, traditional cash gifts will be presented to women in the country on behalf of the head of state.

The topics of the government meeting include the development of promising oil and gas fields in the west of the country using advanced methods and international experience, the modernization of textile enterprises, measures taken to effectively use the capacities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, the progress of seasonal agricultural work, and the reconstruction of the Ashgabat equestrian complex.

Information was given about the main events scheduled for March and the celebrations marking the opening of social facilities.

Festive events and celebrations will be organized in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, on the occasion of International Women's Day, and the National Spring Day.

The International Conference “Main Directions and Potential for the Development of Tourism in Turkmenistan” and the press conference “Turkmen Land – the Center of Ancient Cultures”, explanatory and propaganda events, exhibitions, musical celebrations, excursions, summing up the results of previously announced creative competitions are also planned.

The ceremony on the occasion of the proclamation of the ancient city of Anau as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” in 2024 by member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) will take place on March 26 at “Türkmeniň ak öýi” at the “Nowruz ýaýlasy” site in the Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat.

As part of the celebrations, a number of events are planned with the participation of representatives of the Turkic peoples: a concert, an exhibition of works of fine and decorative art, works of photographers, the International Scientific Conference “Ancient Anau Culture”, as well as a conference of heads of state and national museums of the TURKSOY member countries. Along with this, a press conference is planned with the participation of representatives of foreign media.

At a government meeting, a draft working plan for cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the OSCE for 2024 was presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for consideration. Let us note that within the framework of joint plans over the past

A visit to our country by the OSCE Secretary General is planned for March this year, within the framework of which high-level meetings of heads of environmental ministries of the Central Asian states will take place.

Currently, together with the OSCE Center, operating in Ashgabat on a permanent basis since 1999, and the relevant government agencies of our country, a Plan of Projects scheduled for implementation in 2024 has been prepared, in accordance with which 37 projects are planned to be implemented.

Noting that the prepared Plan, aimed at further effective interaction with this Organization, covers the political, economic, environmental and humanitarian spheres, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue systematic work to develop constructive cooperation with the OSCE.

On February 22, a meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslakhaty was held in the “Türkmenistanyň Maslahatlar merkezi” building under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The main topic was the priority tasks for the successful implementation of the “Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2024”. The agenda also included a discussion of the Plan of upcoming work and activities for the implementation of this Program in the main areas of activity of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by members of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty and the Government, deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of political parties, public associations, the media, etc.

National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his keynote speech focused on the celebrations on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi and took the initiative to legislate in the future the cultural heritage of the great master of artistic expression, who elevated the Turkmen people and raised their authority in the world , and thereby perpetuate it.

Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the main achievements of the country in the economic and social spheres, the main goals of the “Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2024”, and outlined the main tasks for improving national legislation.

In order to ensure a high organizational level of the work being carried out, it was proposed to include in the agenda of the meeting of the Presidium issues on the timely solution of the assigned tasks along with the decisions and instructions given at the meetings of the Halk Maslakhaty and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Among them are the solemn celebration at the international level of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi; further strengthening the unity of society and ensuring active participation in the implementation of the tasks provided for in the programs by deputies of the Mejlis, members of the Halk Maslahaty and Gengeshes; socio-economic development of the country, inspiring every employee to succeed, active participation in the development of concepts for the development of the private sector and the service sector, support for import-substituting production and construction, as well as strategies for the development of export-oriented industry, urban development; strengthening the function of specialized organizations for working with youth; preparation of a Concept for improving teaching methods and a strategy for the development of science in the country; adoption of new legislative acts and systematic improvement of laws.

On February 24, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Honorary Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Arkadag in order to familiarize himself with the projects of facilities planned for construction in the new city, with the types of construction materials, and also held a working meeting here with the participation of heads of relevant structures .

As part of the second stage of the “smart” city, the construction of the State Museum, the Agricultural University complex and a children’s park are envisaged, in the design of which Hero-Arkadag instructed to involve students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan.

Having familiarized himself with the emblem of the new medical cluster, the National Leader of the Turkmen people instructed to carry out appropriate work to approve it at the international level.

During a working meeting with the heads of a number of specialized structures, issues of construction of the second stage of the new city, the settlement of people in new houses, and the work of agricultural research institutes were discussed.

On the same day, the National Leader of the Turkmen people held a working meeting at the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the city of Arkadag, during which he approved a work plan for the rehabilitation of children from different regions of the country, and also presented a Certificate of UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for the effective activities of the Center.

Thus, the events of the past week demonstrated the high dynamics and creative potential of the country, the success of large-scale socio-economic programs implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov based on the continuity of national historical experience and openness to world achievements and innovations
