The events of the past week serve as clear evidence of the success of the implementation of national programs for the comprehensive development of the country, further increasing the international authority of the Fatherland, significantly increasing its economic potential, ensuring the well-being and happiness of the native people - the main goal of the strategic course of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

On March 4, the head of state on the digital system held a working meeting at which the progress of field campaigns in the country was reviewed.

The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the current important agricultural season, noting that its organized conduct is one of the most important conditions for obtaining rich harvests. In this regard, the head of state instructed to keep constant attention on the issues of preparing areas allocated for cotton, supplying farmers with high-quality seeds, and observing agrotechnical standards when caring for wheat.

At the same time, the President of the country noted the need for high-quality and timely planting of potatoes, onions, and other vegetable and melon crops, preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for sowing, giving specific instructions in this regard.

A number of instructions were given regarding strict control over the progress of work planned for this year in the velayats within the framework of the National Rural Program and the Program for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022–2028.

On March 5, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Ms. Helga Schmid.

During the exchange of views on key issues of interaction, the energy sector was identified as a promising area. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke in favor of carrying out specific work within the OSCE to bring energy resources to the world market and transit, including political, financial and environmental aspects.

The prospects for cooperation in the transport sector were also noted. At the same time, Turkmenistan’s readiness to expand partnership with the OSCE in priority areas was confirmed.

On March 6, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the State Security Council. The agenda included consideration of the results of the work of military and law enforcement agencies for two months of 2024, as well as the identification of priority tasks to ensure security and peace in our independent Fatherland, strengthening the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies, and further improving their activities.

At the meeting, the President of the country signed the Decree “On the appointment and dismissal of judges of the courts of Turkmenistan and the assignment of qualification classes to them.”

On March 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers using the digital system, at which priority aspects of state life were considered.

In particular, issues of further modernization of the national legal framework, improvement of the activities of open joint-stock companies producing food products, and implementation of measures to provide the oil and gas industry with equipment and facilities that allow them to carry out relevant work on wells more than 7 thousand meters deep were discussed.

It was also reported about an international tender for the construction of a new road bridge in the city of Ashgabat, strengthening the material and technical base of the Türkmendemirýollary agency, the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns, and measures taken for the rational and efficient use of water resources.

Information was given about preparations for important events planned for the near future.

Among them is a nationwide tree planting campaign, which will be held on March 16 throughout the country, including in the cities of Arkadag and Ashgabat.

The exhibition and conference, dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the formation of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country, are scheduled to be held on March 17–19.

The main celebrations on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday - International Nowruz Day - will take place on March 21 in the town of Nowruz ýaýlasy, located on the territory of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, on the squares in front of the Türkmeniň ak öýi buildings in the administrative centers of Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats, as well as in the city of Arkadag.

Preparations are underway for the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Ancient Fortress of Amul: Keeper of the Secrets of the Past” on the occasion of the inclusion of this historical monument in the site “The Great Silk Road: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor”, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A proposal was submitted for consideration by the head of state to create a Strategic Advisory Council “Turkmenistan-United Nations” in order to bring national programs and international initiatives of the Fatherland in line with the requirements of the time, establishing a systemic partnership within the framework of projects implemented jointly with the UN and its specialized structures.

The activities of this Council will be focused on solving certain problems. These include coordinating steps for the preparation, selection and approval of projects together with specialized UN agencies and developing proposals in this regard for the Government of Turkmenistan. It is also planned to study international initiatives put forward in the format of the Community of Nations and, based on feasibility, to prepare proposals for the Turkmen side to join them and support them.

At the same time, it is proposed to monitor the implementation of tasks arising from the Program “Revival of a new era of a powerful state: National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052” and the adopted national action plans, as well as discuss ways of their practical implementation.

At the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated dear mothers, girls and women on the upcoming International Women's Day, addressing all compatriots with his best wishes.

On the eve of the holiday, solemn ceremonies were held to present cash gifts on behalf of the head of state to all residents of the country - workers of enterprises and institutions, those on well-deserved rest, as well as schoolgirls and kindergarten students.

As part of honoring mothers of large families with eight or more children, who were awarded the honorary title “Ene mähri” in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, they were presented with the keys to new luxury apartments.

Other events of the past week included a high-level meeting between the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the ministers of environmental protection of the Central Asian countries, which took place in the conference hall of the capital's Ýyldyz hotel.

In her speech, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid emphasized the importance of the current event, which provides an opportunity to once again focus attention on modern environmental challenges, the primary aspects of climate issues directly related to promoting sustainable development, ensuring energy and food security and, in general, prosperity and stability in the region.

The meeting participants discussed the topics of sustainable water resources management, the development of water diplomacy and, in particular, the involvement of women in this process. The main emphasis was placed on climate change and the need to develop coordinated measures to adapt to it, reduce the risks of natural disasters, and increase awareness of these issues.

The priority positions of Turkmenistan on protecting the environment, ensuring environmental well-being and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners were also voiced.

At a meeting held in the Mejlis with OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid, issues of further development of inter-parliamentary relations and interaction in the legislative sphere were discussed.

The Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an exhibition of Afghan goods, as well as a business forum of business circles of the two countries.

A large delegation of representatives of Afghan government agencies, managers and specialists from more than 230 companies and firms interested in the progressive development of fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the events.

Manufacturers in the areas of food and light industry, construction, industrial and household chemicals, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, sporting goods, and various services set up their stands at the exhibition.

Achievements in the industrial segment were demonstrated by plastic production enterprises, steel and metallurgical plants, companies specializing in the oil and gas industry, in the field of transport and logistics.

The activities of Afghan banks were presented; the exhibition reflected the fields of science and education, printing and printing.

The pavilions dedicated to folk crafts and decorative and applied arts attracted much attention.

The agenda of the Turkmen-Afghan business forum included a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the trade, economic, export and investment potential of our countries.

A specific discussion of joint projects and areas for further interaction took place during bilateral meetings of representatives of relevant ministries and departments, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan with Afghan colleagues, as a result of which relevant documents were signed.

At the meeting of women entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, positions on developing cooperation and further strengthening mutually beneficial business partnerships were agreed upon.

As part of the review, visiting auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan were held with the participation of representatives of government and business structures of our country, as well as businessmen from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, the Virgin Islands, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and the UK.

In total, more than 70 transactions were concluded during the trading session, the total amount of which amounted to more than 107 million US dollars and over 33 million manat.

The exhibition was visited by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Hero-Arkadag held a business meeting dedicated to the issues of comprehensive development of interstate cooperation.

Among the priority areas of interaction were the fuel and energy, trade, economic and transport sectors. The importance of the implementation of such large projects as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line and the railway system was noted.

Particular attention was paid to the construction of grain barns, shopping complexes and other facilities in the border area that are of great importance for both countries.

Last week, a meeting was held in the Mejlis with a member of the Austrian Parliament, head of the Austria-Turkmenistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Eva Ernst-Dziedzic.

Having discussed the state of Turkmen-Austrian relations and the prospects for their development, the parties emphasized that there are ample opportunities for increasing cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.

Also, the Mejlis hosted a regular meeting of members of the Turkmen-Austrian friendship group, at which they discussed the exchange of experience in legislative work, new approaches to environmental protection, ensuring gender equality, as well as ongoing activities to improve the political status of youth and women. parliamentarians. The importance of regular meetings to enhance interaction was emphasized.

A traditional exhibition-competition “Gözellik döredýän zenanlar” was organized at the Exhibition Center of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan dedicated to International Women’s Day.

The exhibition included works by professional artists, lovers of arts and crafts, and students of art clubs, made in various techniques and genres.

The best of them were rewarded with memorable gifts from the National Center of Trade Unions, the Women's Union and the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmenistan national team performed with great success at the international taekwondo tournament (ITF) held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). 23 of our athletes took part in the competition. Competing against almost 1,500 athletes from 11 countries, they won 19 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals.

In general, the events of the past week became a clear reflection of the most important priorities of the state policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at the successful implementation of long-term transformation programs, the dynamic development of the Fatherland, steadily moving forward along the chosen path of peace, creation and progress.
