Turkmenistan and Austria will strengthen bilateral ties in a number of areas

The delegation of Turkmenistan led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov made a working visit to Vienna from March 11 to 12 to discuss the further development of bilateral ties in various areas. The official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports this.

During the trip, negotiations were held between the delegations of Turkmenistan and Austria on specific measures for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In addition, the meeting participants advocated intensifying activities within international organizations, especially the UN and OSCE. They confirmed the commitment of the parties to continue the practice of mutual support for the candidacies of the two states to various international structures.

In addition, the Turkmen delegation discussed with the Austrian side the prospects for cooperation in the field of education and student exchange. The meetings took place at the Technical University of Graz and at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy.

Following the visit, three documents on cooperation were signed between Turkmenistan and Austria, including;

Cooperation program between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Austria for 2024-2025; Basic standard cooperation agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); Memorandum of cooperation between the Oguz Khan University of Engineering Technologies of Turkmenistan and the Technical University of Graz.
