A meeting of the State Security Council was held in Turkmenistan

The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a regular meeting of the State Security Council. The agenda included consideration of the results of the work of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies for January 2024. Priority tasks have also been identified to ensure security and stability in the country, strengthen the material and technical base of security forces, and further improve their activities, writes TDH.

The first speaker was the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the practical steps taken since the beginning of the year to strengthen the defense capability of the National Army. Separate topics of the report were the implementation of the Armed Forces Development Program and the training of highly qualified military personnel.

Information was also provided about the work being carried out to improve the service and living conditions of defenders of the Fatherland, in particular, about the social facilities that have been commissioned.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, committed to the status of positive neutrality, steadily follows the principles of peace, good neighborliness and broad international cooperation, which are reflected in the successfully implemented defensive Military Doctrine. Having identified the use of a digital system and increasing the theoretical and combat training of Armed Forces personnel on an ongoing basis as among the current areas of activity, the head of Turkmenistan addressed a number of specific instructions to the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense.

Prosecutor General B. Mukhamedov reported on the results of the work done in January of this year in order to oversee the strict implementation of legislative acts. Information was also provided on the progress of introducing advanced technologies and modernizing the material and technical base of subordinate structures.

Summarizing the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces emphasized that the key tasks of this structure are the prevention, suppression and elimination of violations of laws, rights and freedoms of citizens. For the proper implementation of assigned powers, the training of professional personnel is important, the President of Turkmenistan noted, addressing specific instructions to the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Minister of Internal Affairs M. Khydyrov reported on the measures implemented during the period under review to prevent road accidents, ensure fire safety, and maintain law and order.

Reporting on the practical steps taken to create conditions for effective service and living conditions for employees, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed about the opening in the past month of complexes of administrative buildings for subordinate services and residential buildings in the city of Ashgabat and in the velayats.

Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Khojamgulyev reported on the work carried out by the reporting structures in January of this year, the comprehensive steps being taken to improve the national judicial system, and improve the professional level of employees. There was also a report on the opening of a new residential building for department employees.

Summarizing the report, the head of Turkmenistan focused on the role of this body as an effective mechanism of state protection, including all areas of legal regulation. It was noted that the focus should be on issues related to ensuring legality, justice and order, eliminating the causes and conditions that led to offenses. Speaking about the importance of strengthening the personnel of the department, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to the head of the Supreme Court.

Then the Minister of National Security N. Atagaraev reported on the activities of the MNS since the beginning of the year to maintain socio-political stability in the country, reliably protect the achievements of the state’s independence, and carry out instructions previously given by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country. There was also a report on the progress of the implementation of the Development Program for this structure and the implementation of a digital system in the department’s departments.

After listening to the report, the head of Turkmenistan focused on the priority tasks facing the Ministry of National Security. In particular, the importance of actively applying new technological developments in everyday work and constantly improving the skills of employees was emphasized. Noting the need to carry out coordinated activities with other law enforcement agencies to counter the challenges of our time, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the minister with a number of specific instructions.

Head of the State Border Service Ya. Nuryev reported on the results of the work of the structure he heads for January of this year. It was also reported on comprehensive measures taken to reliably protect the land and sea borders of Turkmenistan and strengthen the material and technical base of border units.

Summarizing the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country noted that Turkmenistan maintains constructive dialogue and fruitful cooperation with all states, primarily with neighboring ones.

Next, Minister of Adalat M. Taganov reported on the work done for the specified period, including the preparation of proposals for the modernization of national legislation and the events being organized to explain current regulations to the population.

After listening to the report, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized the need for further comprehensive development of the country’s legislative framework. In this context, the importance of studying best practices in the legislative sphere and active participation in the development of draft regulations was noted.

Then the Chairman of the State Customs Service M. Khudaykulyev reported on the activities carried out since the beginning of the year and the implementation of instructions previously given by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country on the technical re-equipment of reporting structures and strengthening human resources.

Summarizing the report, the head of state emphasized that taking into account the increase in cargo transportation through the territory of Turkmenistan, it is necessary to ensure compliance with established requirements for the inspection of goods imported into the country. Having focused on the key areas of the long-term work plan of the Service, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to keep under control the issues of modernization of the material and technical base of customs terminals.

Chairman of the State Migration Service A. Sazakov reported on the practical steps taken during the indicated period aimed at effectively solving the priority tasks facing the department. Information was also provided on the progress of the implementation of the relevant Development Program and the implementation of the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country.

After listening to the report, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized that the key aspects of the Service’s activities are ensuring the interests and safety of citizens, respecting the rights of their movement within the country and abroad.

Summing up the meeting, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country noted that in accordance with the Military Doctrine, which is purely defensive in nature, measures are being consistently taken to ensure the security and integrity of Turkmenistan at a high level and strengthen its defense capability.
